LGBTQ Expertise
Do you design wedding rings and engagement rings
specifically for LGBTQIA+ couples?
Yes. We specialise in engagement rings and wedding bands for
LGBTQIA+ couples, designed to be inclusive and free from gender
norms. Our collection features symbolic, personalised designs that
reflect your personalities and unique relationship rather than
traditional expectations. Every ring is made to order and can be
customised for style, story, and symbolism.
We can help if you are searching for:
Gay engagement rings in the UK
Lesbian wedding bands
Gender-neutral engagement rings
Custom wedding rings for LGBTQIA+ couples
Bespoke engagement rings near London
We specialise in exactly that. Explore our collection
online or book a private
consultation to begin designing rings that reflect your life
and journey - together forever.
Are your rings suitable for same-sex proposals?
Absolutely. We design engagement rings for same-sex proposals
across the UK and internationally. We are dedicated to engagement
and wedding rings for LGBTQIA+ relationships, including lesbian,
gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, and asexual couples. For us
the most important thing is love.
Options include:
One partner proposing first, then designing the second ring
together
Designing both rings in advance
Creating a “proposal ring” as a placeholder for a formal
engagement ring
There are no fixed rules — we can discuss options to suit your
circumstances and desires.
Do you create gender-neutral engagement rings and
wedding bands?
Yes. Many clients request gender-neutral or non-binary ring
designs. Our focus is to provide the LGBTQ community with an
exemplary service and rings of the very highest quality.
Options include:
Minimalist designs
Wider bands
Symbols of sexuality or identity
Matching or complementary rings
Clean, sculptural shapes
All rings are made to order, allowing you to choose proportions,
diamonds, gemstones, and finishes tailored to your preferences.
Can you help if we’re not sure who proposes or what
traditions to follow?
Yes. Many LGBTQIA+ couples prefer non-traditional proposal
arrangements. We understand the new dynamics of same-sex and
non-conforming relationships and support your desire for genuine
self expression.
Options include:
One partner proposing first
Designing rings together before proposing
Using a proposal ring as a placeholder
Skipping engagement rings and focusing on wedding bands
We create space for you to define your own traditions, ideally
during an in-person or virtual consultation.
I’m non-binary, what kind of engagement ring should
I wear?
We think that beauty and taste is in the eye of the beholder. We
do not 'gender' our collection of rings. We organise our designs
by widths and by colours of gold and by diamonds. You can choose
the ring that you love, a ring that matches your personality,
entirely without gender constraints. For further information
please read our guide
to gender-neutral jewellery.
Are there jewellery brands and jewellers that are
gay LGBTQ+ friendly?
Yes, we are a gay owned and gay run business. And, as a married
couple, we understand some of the unique issues related to
same-sex marriage. We work with gay, lesbian, trans and non-binary
couples from across the UK and internationally, and would be
delighted to help you find engagement and wedding rings that truly
reflect your relationship. You are guaranteed a very warm welcome
when you book a private consultation with us.
Preparing & Planning
My knowledge about jewellery is very limited - can
you provide advice?
Absolutely. For many of our clients, an engagement or wedding ring
is their first experience of fine jewellery. We’re here to guide
you at every stage, explaining your options clearly and helping
you make confident, informed choices as you find the rings that
feel right for you. Feel free to email or
call or book a
consultation.
What if I don’t know my partner’s ring size?
You are getting ready to pop the question with a surprise
engagement ring, but don't know how to measure your partner's ring
size. This is a very common situation, especially when planning a
surprise proposal - you’re certainly not alone. There are several
discreet ways to get a reliable estimate without giving anything
away, and we’re happy to guide you through the best approach for
your circumstances. With a little planning, it’s often possible to
achieve an excellent fit. For more detailed guidance, please click
here.
When is the right time to start looking for
engagement or wedding rings?
We always recommend allowing plenty of time so the experience
feels calm, considered and enjoyable. Creating your rings
typically takes around 4 weeks, with more detailed designs taking
6 weeks and bespoke pieces up to 12 weeks. You also need to allow
for delivery time.
Ideally, you should begin exploring your options around 6
months in advance, and no later than 3 months before
you need the rings. This ensures there is time to refine your
choices and have everything ready well ahead of your proposal or
wedding day.
While we will always do our best to accommodate shorter timelines,
planning ahead gives you peace of mind and helps make the whole
experience more enjoyable and relaxed.
Do you have any guides to engagement and wedding
rings for LGBTQ+ couples?
Yes - we have created a series of expert guides covering
engagement rings for two brides, two grooms, precious metal
options, gender-neutral rings, diamonds, ring sizing, care
techniques, and LGBTQ+ proposal ideas. You can explore all of them
in our LGBTQ engagement and wedding ring
guides.
Do LGBTQ couples need to buy two engagement rings?
Not necessarily - some LGBTQ couples decide to use an engagement
ring for the romance and symbolism of the proposal but then wait
to both get wedding bands. Following the proposal, other couples
immediately order a second engagement ring to maintain a sense of
equality and togetherness. The choice is entirely up to you.
Are there LGBTQIA specific ring symbols?
Yes, we are proud to create an amazing collection of 'rainbow'
wedding and engagement rings in special colours of gold. We can
create rings that reflect various sexual/gender
identities including lesbian, trans, twink, bears,
pansexual, and the LGBTQ flag.
Getting Started
Where are you based, and do you meet clients
outside London?
We are based near London but work with clients across the UK and
internationally. We have meet many happy gay, lesbian and gender
non-conforming couples right across the length and breath of the
UK.
Our base is our family's jewelry store in Hertfordshire
Virtual appointments are available, including secure video
consultations for US and international clients
Consultations are free of charge and focused on listening
first
We hope you will give us the opportunity to discuss your plans
and help you to select designs that honour your relationship -
whether bold and expressive or subtly personal.
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes. Video consultations are available for UK and international
clients. We guide you through design options, stone choices,
sizing, and timelines, helping you explore different possibilities
for your engagement or wedding rings. Virtual consultations allow
you to discuss ideas, ask questions, and begin the design process
from the comfort of your home.
Do we need to prepare anything before meeting you?
It’s helpful to browse our collection beforehand to see which
designs catch your eye. If you find inspiration elsewhere - online
or in magazines - bring an image or a link so we can better
understand your style.
It’s also useful to think about whether you’d like your rings to
match, complement each other, or reflect completely individual
styles. Beyond that, simply come, relax, and enjoy exploring our
collection - we’ll guide you every step of the way.
Can you work with clients based overseas?
Absolutely. We work with couples around the world, from the USA to
New Zealand, and distance is never a barrier. You can browse our
collection online, ask questions via email, and meet us for a
video consultation. When your rings are ready, we handle shipping
and customs clearance, so you can relax and look forward to
experiencing them in person. For a step-by-step guide please see
our international service.
Do you work with couples planning destination
weddings?
Yes. We frequently work with couples marrying abroad from the USA
to Spain to Thailand. We would be pleased to discuss all aspects
this with you.
We advise on safe transport, insurance, and care
We ensure creation and shipping timelines allow your rings to
arrive safely
The earlier we can talk through your plans the better.
How do we start the process?
First, browse our main collection on our website and see which
designs speak to you. Discuss with your partner their preferences.
At this stage you are just getting a feel for a ring that reflects
your personalities.
We can then guide you step-by-step through design, quotation,
production, and delivery.
Designing Your Rings
Are all rings bespoke?
Yes. All of our rings are made to order. From our collection, each
ring is crafted specifically for you, with optional customisation.
We also offer fully bespoke rings that are designed from scratch
in collaboration with you.
Just let us know what you'd love and, I'm sure, we can bring it
to life.
Do you offer matching wedding rings for two brides
or two grooms?
Yes. We create matching, complementary, or completely individual
wedding bands that are symbolic for gay men, lesbians and
non-conforming, non-traditional couples.
Options include:
Identical rings or shared design elements (metal type, width,
finish, diamonds)
Individually styled rings that reflect personal taste
A personal consultation is the ideal forum to explore what is
right your you and your partner.
Can we include personal engraving or symbolic
details?
Absolutely. We can engrave your special message inside your rings
as part of their creation. Just let us know what you'd like and
our crafts person will do the rest.
Many couples choose:
Private messages
Important dates
Meaningful symbols
Hidden stones inside the band
Personalisation is a core part of every made-to-order ring.
Which precious metal should we choose?
Choosing the right metal is a key decision - it affects the look,
weight, feel, and of course, the cost of your rings. From
naturally white metals like palladium and platinum to warm yellow
and rose golds, each option has its own character. Purity and
alloy also influence durability and price. To help you navigate
these choices, we’ve prepared a detailed guide
to precious metals, which we recommend reading before making
your decision.
How do we choose the right ring width and profile?
The perfect width and profile is as much about comfort as it is
about style. We encourage trying on a variety of bands to feel how
each sits on your finger. While a 3 - 4mm band may look elegant,
you might find a 7 - 8mm band feels just right once you try it on.
We can guide you through examples ranging from 2mm to 10mm,
helping you discover what is perfect for you.
Can you match a wedding band to an engagement ring?
Yes we can. If you’re planning both an engagement ring and a
wedding band, we can advise on achieving harmony in style, fit,
and proportion. Once we understand your preferences, we can
suggest how to complement your engagement ring with a band that
aligns seamlessly in design, ensuring a cohesive and beautifully
appearance.
Should I choose a lab-grown or natural diamond?
Both lab-grown and natural diamonds are real diamonds, with the
same physical and optical properties. The difference lies in their
origin. Natural diamonds are formed deep within the earth over
billions of years, while lab-grown diamonds are created in
advanced laboratory environments in a matter of weeks.
Lab-grown diamonds have become increasingly popular, particularly
for those looking to maximise size or value. Natural diamonds, on
the other hand, are chosen for their rarity and geological
heritage. There is no right or wrong choice - it comes down to
personal preference. We’re always happy to talk you through the
differences and help you decide what's right for you. You may also
find our diamond
guide helpful.
Are your diamonds and gemstones ethically sourced?
Yes. We prioritise ethical sourcing from suppliers who comply with
the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) Code of Practices. We take
sustainability very seriously.
Options include:
Conflict-free diamonds
Lab-grown diamonds (for larger sizes)
Single Mine Origin (SMO) metals
Alternative gemstones
Transparency is central to our ethos and design process. For
more details please see our guide
to diamonds
Are black diamond engagement rings for men or
women?
Both, the choice of black diamonds is entirely up to you. We can
add small black diamonds to delicate designs and larger stones to
chunkier rings. Often a solitaire black diamond is used, however
we do make rings with a full band of black diamonds, that's black
diamonds all the way around!
Ordering & Practical Details
What is the price range for your rings?
The price of rings varies greatly and is determined by a number of
factors. We will help you understand the cost implication of metal
choices, weights and, where applicable, diamond quality.
Ring prices depending on:
Metal choice (platinum, palladium, gold type and grade)
Diamond or gemstone type, size, and quality
Width and weight
Design complexity and level of customisation
We prioritise craftsmanship, ethical sourcing, and customer
service.
How long does it take to make a ring?
It's best to start selecting your rings as soon as possible.
Getting things underway early gives you peace-of-mind that a very
important part of your ceremony is ready. Let us help to make
choosing your rings a relaxing and romantic experience.
Lead time to create your rings:
Collection designs: 4- 6 weeks
Fully bespoke rings: 8 - 12 weeks (includes consultation and
CAD design if needed)
Delivery: allow approximately 1 week for GB and 2 - 3 weeks
for overseas
These time frames are indicative, and we are always happy to
discuss your schedule to ensure your rings are ready in good time
for your proposal or wedding day. Our recommendation is to start
choosing your engagement or wedding rings about 6 months
before your proposal or wedding to allow time for
design, production, and delivery.
How are the rings packaged and delivered?
Your rings will be presented beautifully in a high-quality
polished wooden case, lined with soft satin. For pairs, both rings
are placed side by side in a double presentation box - a
thoughtful and romantic finishing touch.
Within Great Britain, we use Royal Mail Special Delivery for
secure, insured shipping. Alternatively, by appointment, you may
collect your rings from our showroom in Berkhamsted,
Hertfordshire.
For international clients, we arrange delivery via trusted
couriers such as FedEx, ensuring your rings arrive safely and
promptly, wherever you are in the world.
Do you ship engagement and wedding rings
internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide, with the United States as our primary
international market. All rings are fully insured during shipping
and carefully packaged. We guide international clients through
creation timelines, sizing, and customs requirements. For more
details on designing and ordering from overseas please visit our international service
page.
Aftercare & Services
Do you provide a guarantee?
Yes. Our engagement and wedding rings are guaranteed against
manufacturing defects for 10 years. Should any issue arise
relating to the original craftsmanship, we will put it right free
of charge - see our terms for
full details.
You must expect, however, that your rings, as with all fine
jewellery, will naturally show signs of wear from the moment you
put them on. Precious metals develop surface marks, rings worn
together can rub, and settings can gradually wear with everyday
use. For this reason, we recommend having your rings checked
periodically to ensure they remain secure and looking their best.
How should we care for our rings?
Your rings are designed to be worn and enjoyed every day, but a
little care will help them look their best for years to come. We
recommend storing them safely when not worn and cleaning them
gently from time to time. It’s also wise to avoid exposure to
harsh environments or chemicals that may affect the metal or
settings. For more detailed advice, please read our guide
to caring for your rings.
Can rings be resized later on?
Yes, rings can usually be resized. We always aim to achieve the
perfect fit from the outset, although we understand this can be
more challenging with a surprise proposal. If needed, your ring
can be returned to us for resizing, and we will guide you through
the process when you place your order.
Can rings be re-polished?
Yes, rings can be refinished and re-polished. Over time, your
rings will develop a natural patina - a soft record of everyday
wear that many clients come to appreciate. Polishing can restore
the surface to an almost new finish, though it also means
beginning that journey again. Whether to refinish or preserve that
character is a personal choice, and we are always happy to advise.
Do we need insurance for our rings?
We strongly recommend insuring your rings against loss, damage and
theft. If your ring is set with a larger diamond, it is important
to check that the stone is fully covered by your insurance policy.
It is also wise to keep your valuation up to date, so your cover
reflects current replacement values. If you are travelling, check
that your policy includes the relevant locations, activities and
values. Taking a few simple precautions can also help minimise the
risk of loss or damage while wearing your rings. Our guide
to ring care may be of further assistance.
